1930 Model ‘A’ Ford Pickup with a 302 c.i. Ford Windsor, AOD 4-speed automatic transmission, 8” differential, Vintage Air A/C & heat, and power windows.
The body and fenders are fiberglass while the bed is a steel reproduction. The ‘glass body was extended by approximately 4” from the manufacturer (unknown) so there is more leg room on the inside. The color is a ‘Hot Rod’ mat finish with hand painted pinstriping. The hood and grill are steel from a 1932 Ford and the side panels are included.
A custom square tube frame uses a Monte Carlo front end tubular ‘A’ arms and coil over shocks with Flaming River rack & pinion steering. The 8” Ford differential is held in place using a 4-link system with coil over shocks. The manual brake system has discs on the front and drums out back. The 15” Kelsey Hayes wire wheels ‘tubed’ Coker tires sizes 165/65R’s up front and 225/75R’s on the back.
The 302 Ford V-8 is a new ‘crate’ motor with 9.5:1 compression and a stock hydraulic cam. The “three 2-barrel” carburetor setup only uses the center carb while the two end units are blocked off. The distributor has Pertronics internals, and a set of ceramic coated headers connect to electric cut-outs into dual exhaust. Fuel cell mounted under the bed holds 22 gallons.
The interior uses brown vinyl to cover the bench seat and door panels. While a Lokar shifter handles the AOD transmission.
